But Donald Trump?
Mr. Trump did not 'fire' Carrie Prejean and has insisted that the firestorm that ensued when Perez Hilton took exception to her answer to his question is more a black mark on the media and told them all they 'should be ashamed of themselves'.
Mr. Trump however sits a very barbed fence when he states that he would have Mr. Hilton back to judge another of his contests and saw no reason to admonish him for his attacks on Carrie.
Oh Really? Why would there be no repercussions to his outrageous and outlandish behaviour? So over the top in his vicious attacks he was not satisfied to call her names in his immediately produced YouTube diatribe he has to take the media circuit and launch full bore into attempting to completely destroy this young woman. All the familiar things happened. Somehow, somewhere, 'photos' are produced. Hopefully to box in the pageant into removing the Miss California crown from Carrie's pretty head.
It was gratifying that Mr. Trump did not fall for the ploy and into the abyss of appeasing the 'media firestorm'
However, another issue was raised and Mr. Trump was asked how he personally felt about 'Same Sex Marriage' ( as if that is not an outlandish oxymoron.)
He dodged the question. He sits the fence, attempting to be all things to all people. Indicating that Mr. Hilton would be welcome to judge again, he indicated that Hilton is 'doing his thing'. And he is free to do that.
One wonders who will be his next victim while he exercises his 'right to free speech' .
I would have thought much more of Mr. Trump if he had actually taken a stand against all this nonsense that would actually be a platform for what is right.
This leaves the door open for another of these kinds of attacks the very next time someone says something the PC police on the far left gear up.
One wonders what Mr. Trump would say or do if HE were the target.
Of course, it is all about money and all about his enterprises doing well so sitting on that barbed fence might serve him well.
Unless he loses his balance.
